I was born in the North of Germany, close to the danish border. When i was still living there, from time to time a friend picked me up and we drove to Dagebüll Mole, which is a ferry dock. At its very end, it had a ladder going down to the water. If you went onto that ladder you could climb down until your feet touched the water. Then you would turn around ,and n front of you, you just saw the ocean, as if you were walking on water.
lyrics
WALK ON WATER
Waves all across the black sea, there's been wind in my face.
and I almost walked on water, you know.
I could taste the salt on my lips and a yearning in me
as I watched the black horizon and sky.
Chorus
I've been way up in the black skies
I've been there, I was here.
' seems it doesn't really matter this far.
I've been following an unseen line,
' seems I didn't move at all
and I'd never ever thought I'd get so far that soon.
' seems the scenery's not been changing
in my dreams I returned.
and some times along the way I almost got to know
where the place is, I should go to, what my eyes fail to see.
and I almost walk on water, you know.
Chorus
Bridge
Has it really sunk down to where it's dark?
Have I heard that sound or has it just been my thoughts?
Did I really lose the connection to reality?
Or have I caught a glimpse of what they call infinity?
